Describly ("we", "us", or "our") operates as a Shopify application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

When you install Describly, we collect and store:

Your Shopify store domain and access token (required to access the Shopify Admin API)
Your account email address (for transactional emails)
Product titles and descriptions you generate or rewrite using our AI
Your generation history (language, tone, and content generated)
Usage counts per billing period

We do NOT collect customer data, order data, financial data, or any information beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

How We Use Your Information

To authenticate your Shopify store and make API calls on your behalf
To generate and save AI product descriptions
To track your usage against your plan limit
To send transactional emails (welcome, trial reminders, billing updates)

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Describly:

Anthropic Claude — AI text generation. Product titles and context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate descriptions. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Supabase — Database storage (PostgreSQL). Your shop data is stored in Supabase. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Vercel — Application hosting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Resend — Transactional email delivery. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Your data is retained while you have an active or cancelled Describly installation. If you uninstall the app and submit a GDPR data deletion request, we will permanently delete your shop data and generation history within 30 days.

GDPR Compliance

Describly is compliant with Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks. We respond to customer data requests, customer data erasure requests, and shop data erasure requests as required by Shopify.
